JinkoSolar, Longi Solar, Trina Solar, JA Solar and Canadian Solar have the largest share of solar panel exports

The top 10 largest solar panel manufacturers have published their second-quarter figures. This shows that exports of solar panels continued to grow among these manufacturers in the first quarter.

Tier-1 manufacturer JinkoSolar has been the largest exporter of solar panels for 4 years in a row and maintains this position with 7.8 GW of solar panels shipped. It is notable that Longi Solar saw its exports double compared to the same period in 2019. JinkoSolar and Longi Solar both expect to have exported around 20 GW of solar panels by the end of the year, keeping the manufacturers in a neck and neck race. for the first position.

Jinko and Longi are followed by Trina, JA Solar and Canadian Solar who exported 5 to 6 GW of modules respectively in the first half of 2020. Trina and JA Solar in particular have made significant efforts to expand production capacity.

Export of Jinko Solar solar panels

Compared to Trina and JA Solar, Canadian Solar had less presence in China, although this is due to its business strategy. The company allocates only 1 GW of production capacity to the domestic market; it delivered more orders abroad.

With the top two positions already taken by Jinko and Longi, there is only one spot left up for grabs for Trina, JA Solar and Canadian Solar. Since these three manufacturers are almost comparable in terms of shipments, competition within the Tier-2 group for that spot will be fierce.

Hanwha Q Cells and Risen, which ranked sixth and seventh respectively in the module shipment rankings, may have exported approximately several MW of modules. Hanwha Q Cells' shipment was estimated based on the information provided by insiders as the company has not revealed its financials.

The last-place group, led by Astronergy, consists of suppliers who have each supplied approximately 2 GW of modules. Suntech and Astronergy both focus largely on non-Chinese markets, but this year they started taking the Chinese market seriously.
